Acupuncture

Dr. Bruce Handelsman at Nyack Wellness in Nyack, NY utilizes a holistic approach to treat patients suffering from pain.  With over 39 years of experience, he has been successful in assisting patients to restore their health through acupuncture and chiropractic adjustments.

Patients visit Nyack Wellness for pain conditions stemming from auto injuries, back and neck pain, sports injuries, and sciatica.  Chiropractic and acupuncture methods have been proven to reduce pain and restore the body to its natural health with their non-invasive methods.

Acupuncture is a Chinese method that uses tiny needles to repair meridians that allow energy to flow normally throughout the body.  Acupuncture is helpful in treating not only pain, but also illness, raising energy levels, reducing depression and anxiety, and managing allergies.  The needles that are used are extremely small and most patients do not feel any discomfort during the treatment.  After an acupuncture session, there may be some mild soreness in the area treated. However, it should subside quickly.

Chiropractic is an alternate method to treat pain and discomfort in the nervous system through the adjustment of the musculoskeletal frame, and is often used to complement acupuncture.  It aims to realign the joints so that nerves are not impeded in their passage to the brain.  When the spine is out of alignment, it can cause pain, stiffness, swelling, tingling, or even loss of feeling in a specific area.  Adjustment is safe, and many people feel immediate relief afterward.  With continued care, pain can be drastically reduced or even eliminated completely.

An initial appointment with Dr. Handelsman will include a discussion about symptoms and an overview of medical history, lifestyle, and activity levels.  Depending on the issue, X-rays may be taken to identify the source of the problem.  He will then discuss a plan for treatment and go over any costs associated with the plan.

Dr. Handelsman’s mission is to improve the overall quality of his patients’ lives by restoring balance in their bodies through acupuncture and other non-invasive therapies.  His experience and holistic approach give his patients the confidence they need to make decisions for their treatment.   For more information or to schedule your appointment, please call 845-353-2862.
